At HelpHOPELive we are focused on keeping patients and families impacted by a catastrophic injury as healthy and independent as possible by developing community-based fundraising campaigns that can help make sure they have access to the full range of health care products and services they need. For people living with a spinal cord injury (SCI), these services often include extensive rehabilitation programs.

In honor of National Mobility Awareness Month, on Friday, May 30 at 12 p.m. EST we will host a live chat on Twitter with special guest Mary Schmidt Read, PT, DPT, MS, SCI Program Director and Research Coordinator for Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia.

Magee is one of the top rehabilitation hospitals in the nation, and Mary has served as a physical therapist, administrator and a researcher for more than 30 years. Mary will discuss the goals of rehab following SCI and explain the types of programs available to patients. She will also highlight exciting new research being done to help improve the lives of people living with SCI.
